Dr Ruchir Patel and Anubhav Jain are the best doctors. They are practical doctors with best advice to the patient, they always explain pros and cons of a situation / disease & possible treatment. I am new in Ahmedabad and looking for a good liver doctor. I initially got in touch with Dr Ruchir Patel at the Gastro1 Gota Branch. After it was confirmed that my mother would need a gallbladder removal surgery, we decided to get it done at the Gastro1 Memnagar Branch.

Dr Patel was upfront and transparent about the service they provide in terms of surgery. Since it is a small hospital, they have kept the facilities minimal but extremely efficient.

My entire family is grateful to Dr Patel, Dr Mehul Mehta, and Dr Anubhav Jain for a fantastic treatment. They even sat me down and explained the entire operation procedure for my peace of mind. They informed me about that there might be some complications with the surgery, and what steps they are going to take in case that happens. My mother had severe issues in her gallbladder but still the surgery was safe and smooth. We even came home now.

Here are the pros and cons of choosing this centre for surgical treatment:

Pros:

1. Knowledgable and brilliant doctors who were available on calls and Whatsapp, whenever we needed.
2. Cordial and diligent staff who makes sure that the patient gets all the required meds and IVs on time.
3. Good room with enough space and facilities for both patient and attendant, with 3 times daily cleaning.
4. Accurate and affordable treatment
5. The centre was prompt in booking appointments for surgery, tests, and getting all the required paperwork without any hassle.
6. There is a small but clean pantry to get drinking water, cups, and washing the required dishes.
7. Wi-Fi available for attendants who would like to work

Cons:

1. Few beds and fewer indoor patients. Most of the time my mom and I were alone, with only two night staff. But we felt safe and comfortable.

2. No canteen. But there are a lot of food options within walking distance. Zomato order also comes in easily. Tea is also available from time-to-time.

Suggestion:

- There should be a provision for hot water for drinking. Like an electric kettle in the room, or pantry. So that the patient has easy access to it and the attendant can make tea/coffee whenever they need it.

- There should be hooks to hang clothes in the bathroom

- The admission form should have english translation. As I cannot understand Gujarati, I was apprehensive about singing it.

- Staff should give enough time to the guardians, to read and sign the consent form. I understand, it is a routine procedure for them but for us it is a crucial matter. They should fill the required section from their side first, so that we know what we are consenting to. For instance, when they asked me to sign the consent form was blank. It was not mentioned which doctor will do the surgery, and what surgery it is. Although it was obvious what the surgery was and who will perform it, I refused to give my consent on a blank form for my mother's safety. They respected my request and did the needful promptly.

Overall, we are extremely satisfied and happy with my mother's treatment in Gastro1. She is recovering fast. I would definitely recommend this centre for your gastro related treatment.

A big shout out to the nurse Deepika and the night staff for being so awesome. They both did a great job.
